Maid Juliet

This was my first time making a maid costume and I had a lot of fun with it, I may have to make another maid character in the future. The skirt is based off of Simplicity 2067 and the back bow and top were based off of Simplicity 4015 with modifications by me. I was quite pleased that I was able to make this costume using entirely materials that I already had on hand. All of the ruffles were gathered or pleated by hand. Both the top and skirt have zipper closure and the back bow is false, it snaps in place to make it easier to get in and out of costume. The red checkered material is cotton and the white parts are a combination of cotton, muslin, and poplin. The bodice is lined in red cotton. The choker buttons in place and the wristbands snap closed. The maid headdress was slid onto a metal headband.
